Australia’s only large-scale truffle celebration is coming to Fremantle this winter with the Fremantle Markets teaming up with local WA business ‘Great Southern Truffles’ for the much-anticipated Truffle Extravaganza, taking place 11-13 July 2025.

The Truffle Extravaganza is a must-do for foodies with more than 50,000 visitors expected to enjoy a weekend of culinary creativity, entertainment, and all things truffle.

This free, family-friendly event will transform the historic Fremantle Markets into a truffle lover’s dream. Fremantle Markets stallholder’s are each challenged to create a unique truffle dish exclusive to the event.

Highlights from this year’s truffle menu include a ‘Truffle Brioche Burger’ from Eggspot, ‘Roasted Duck Truffle Banh Mi’ from Viet Kites, and Truffle-Drizzled Warm Donuts from Gfree Donuts WA - plus many more inventive and indulgent creations.

The ‘Truffle House’ marquee on Henderson Street will offer tastings, artisan products, and premium truffle goods from Great Southern Truffles - a proud Western Australian company known for sourcing, producing and celebrating the finest local truffles.

The event will have interactive games on offer such as 'Guess the Weight of The Truffle' and 'Find the Truffle', photo opportunities with truffle heads on display, and prizes to be won throughout the weekend.

Adam Wilson, Managing Director of Great Southern Truffles, says the event is a brilliant way to showcase the region’s world-class truffle industry.

“The Truffle Extravaganza brings local truffles to the people - it’s all about discovery, fun, and flavour,” says Adam. “We’re proud to be a WA-grown business working alongside the Fremantle Markets to give visitors a taste of top-tier, Australian produce.”

Natasha Atkinson, CEO of Fremantle Markets, says the event continues to grow in popularity every year.
